The rescue course is designed to develop the knowledge and necessary skills to effectively perform diver rescues and assist and administer the necessary first aid in the event of an emergency. You will learn skills such as how to perform self rescues, buddy rescues, recognize and calm potential panic divers, administer proper first aid to divers that have experienced dive related injuries, conduct effective search patterns and manage accident scenes.
Knowledge Development
The classroom portion of the course is completed online. In addition, you'll also need to complete Emergency First Responder (EFR) training which can be provided by your instructor.
Pool Training
In the pool you’ll learn the proper way to approach a panicked diver, self rescue, surface and underwater rescues, in-water artificial respiration and more.
Open Water Training
There are four open water dives that you will have to complete. During the first two dives, you’ll just repeat all of the skills that you did in the pool.
The last two open water dives are where the fun begins -rescue scenarios. Your instructor will make the scenarios challenging, but fun and it will most likely be your favorite part of the course.
